Without Love (There Is Nothing)

"Without Love (There Is Nothing)" is another song that just makes me want to cry, like "Since I Fell for You". I don't know why but I just seem to have quite a few songs that can do that to me. I guess with this song it actually makes me stop and think that I shouldn't be sou busy and maybe a little closed and to love before it's too late. Anyway, "Without Love (There Is Nothing) was written by Danny Small and recorded by Clyde McPhatter, an original member of The Drifters, in 1957. It peaked at #6 on the R&B Best Seller Chart and # 19 on Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

WITHOUT LOVE (THERE IS NOTHING)

I awakened this morning, I was filled with despair
All my dreams turned to ashes and gone
As I looked at my life it was barren and bare
Without love I have nothing at all.

 Without love I have nothing
Without love I have nothing at all
 I have conquered the world
All but one thing did I have
Without love I have nothing at all

Once I had a sweetheart who loved only me
There was nothing, oh that she would not give, oh no
But I was blinded by her goodness and I could not see
That a heart without love could not live

 Without love there is nothing
Without love there is nothing at all
Yes, I conquered the world
All but one thing did I have
Without love I have nothing at all.

I thought I'd also include Elvis Presley's rendition of "Without Love ( There is Nothing):
