Mother Monday #5 - Frigg

 Frigg is known as the All-Mother in the Norse pantheon. The Queen of the Æsir, she resides on Asgard in her palace,Fensalir with 12 handmaidens, goddesses in their own right. Frigg has the gift of foresight but does not reveal what she sees. With a spindle she spins clouds.

Music Monday: Bob Weir

  Saturday night, January 10, 2026 news came of the death of Grateful Dead's founding rhythm guitarist and vocalist, Bob Weir had died at the age of 78. The statement that was released stated that Mr. Weir had beat cancer but, unfortunately, had succumbed to underlying lung issues. 

  Sadly, this leaves founding Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann as the last member. 

Fashion Friday - Marchesa

 I was looking for some of the latest in Marchesa fashion but some seemed to have eluded me. I hope you enjoy what I have been able to curate. When possible, I will put in the year.

This a 2025 black jewel embellished column dress

A little more casual look is this denim poplin shirt midi dress. Mot crazy about the shoes. They seem to be too casual.

A stunning one shoulder cape gown made of stretch crepe with the cape made of tulle. Love the deep aubergine.

Finally, there is this red RTW 2013 Marchesa piece. Reminds me of something that would possibly been worn in the 1950s.

Epiphany 2026

The Epiphany, also known as Three Kings Day, is the time in which Jesus Christ was revealed to the world through the visit of the Magi/Three Wiseman from the East. 

  The Magi brought gifts to Baby Jesus of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Gold represents kingship, thus acknowledging Jesus as king of the Jews.

Frankincense oil, representing divinity, denoting Jesus role as the Son of G_d and His divine nature.

Myrrh resin foretells suffering, hinting at the future suffering and death of Jesus.

  The day is marked with church service, chalking of the door ( blessing ones home), having your house blessed and, at least in Louisiana, eating king cake.  It is also the time to remove the Christmas tree and decorations.

Tea for Tuesday #25

 A twist on Tuesday. Instead of hot tea, which this could be used for, this a hot chocolate service set . It is either Limoges or Nippon porcelain. I couldn't find real information on this set but I believe it to be one of the two.

 With about 15 minutes to spare my time I remembered Mother Monday. Holy Mary, Mother of G_d with children.

   January 5th marks what would be Type O Negative's bassist and lead singer, Peter Steele ( born Peter Ratajczyk) 64th birthday. In his honor I am posting " I Don't Wanna Be Me" from Type O Negative's 2003 album Life Is Killing Me 

12 Days of Christmas - Day 12

 "On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me 12 drummers drumming ". This final verse of the song concludes the  12 days of Christmas by representing the 12 points or articles of the Apostles. The Apostles Creed is the opening prayer of the rosary.

 " On the eleventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me 11 pipers piping". This is said to represent the 11 faithful Apostles or Disciples of Jesus.

 Ten lords a leaping of the song is said to represent the 10 commandments. But what kind of lords go leaping?

SEC Football January 1,2026

   What is going on with SEC, Southeastern Conference, football teams? The Alabama Crimson Tide is doing the walk of shame with their cleats in their hands after losing to Illinois Fighting Illini in Pasadena, California's Rose Bowl. 38 to 3. What the hell Alabama? Have you no pride? Are you now the Fighting Illini's cupcake team? Never thought I would ever call the Tide a cupcake team. Coach Bear Bryant is probably rolling over in his grave. It's one thing for a fellow SEC team to trounce you, but damn darlin' this is a completely different kettle of fish. Embarrassing. The way things went Alabama should have forfeited the game.

  Now what is left of SEC pride rest with the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss. This is another mind boggler. Beating SEC rival University of Georgia Bulldogs, 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. The Rebels are facing the  University of Miami Hurricanes in one of the convoluted collegiate football semifinals in Arizona on January 8, 2026. 

  Right now the only thing that would make any kind of sense is if  SEC Shorts' Vandy Pimp and Matt Mitchell's Darth Mizzou from YouTube would make an appearance at the game. Oh my gosh I can't wait to see what they are going to do with Tide's loss.

12 Days of Christmas Day 8

 The 8th day of Christmas is the Feast of the Circumcision of Christ. This day is the conclusion of the Christmas Octave. This is the day in which Jesus was circumcised. This is in the accordance of Jewish law that a Jewish boy is circumcised eight days after their birth to signify the covenant between G_d and Abraham.

 I truly feel like it should be G_d help us with 2026.

I wish I knew where 2025 went. I hope everyone has a peaceful and kind 2026.
