The Julbock or Yule Goat is Scandinavian and Northern European Yule/Christmas symbol that is made of straw. Its origins may predate Christianity. In the pre-Christian days, and in modern Pagan time, goats are associated with Thor, the Norse god of thunder, who rode a  chariot that was drawn by his two goats Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjostr.
