" Evanglina" was written by Hoyt Axton and Kenneth Higginbotham in January of 1976. It was released in March of the same year from Hoyt Axton's album "Fearless".
To me this song is gentler in spirit than Hoyt Axton songs that I am more familiar with i.e. " Joy to the World" and " Della and the Dealer".

Black cats are my favorite. Actually the first cat I remember was a black cat named Midnight. Her daughter's name was Mandy. Mandy's son was named Kitty Kitty. I think I might have been around 5 years old. I have had and still have other coloured cats, but there's always been a black cat in the mix.
None of these black cats are mine, but the first one reminds me of my Lady Iris.
